An outbound despatch system was required for the Manchester site which handles the majority of end user deliveries ordered through Spicers wholesale dealer network.

Our Approach

Conveyor Networks led on the planning and scoping, proposing a solution that included re-using some existing equipment to give budget flexibility. Being able to keep their old system running while the new installation and training took place was very important to Spicers and this was incorporated into the project plan.

The Solution

Goods are taken from 24 packing stations on 2 lines through sealed air and case sealing units. The 2 lines merge onto the main line through the warehouse which takes the product to be palletised. The system handles heavy stationery in a variety of case sizes and weights (up to 25kg) and has the scope to increase throughput if required.
