Design

Automation in warehouse and fulfilment operations can help maintain competitiveness by improving overall efficiency, profitability and ultimately customer experience. Conveyor Networks are experts in designing and installing bespoke automated warehouse systems and warehouse logistics software.

We can either provide technical leadership on a project to support our customer’s teams or we work in partnership to solve our customer’s logistics problems.

Common warehouse issues which we can help resolve

Goods In

Automation makes all processes more consistent and accurate. Conveyor Networks can design and automating the goods in function to give accurate, real time stock visibility right from the start. Automating goods in also has the advantage of speeding up the unloading and pallet building processes improving throughput and safety. Conveyor Networks can integrate different types of machinery to optimize putaway or cross docking requirements.

Putaway

Put-away is the process of moving received goods to a storage, replenishment, or pick area. At peak times put-away can often be delayed causing congestion and sometimes product damage as stock is moved around.

Automated systems can speed this process up and reduce reliance on manual activity. Product can be routed to the correct zones reducing travel time and handling and improving productivity. Sorting is one process in particular that can have a noticeable impact on accuracy and speed. Conveyor Networks have vast experience across a range of solutions covering all types of sorting systems for all types of products.

Picking

Making sure your picking process is as accurate and efficient as possible is absolutely crucial to your business. Reducing errors and time spent walking around the warehouse, increasing efficiency and accuracy all improve your customers experience and are just some of the reasons to look at picking technology and automation.

Conveyor Networks can advise in all areas of picking (RF Scanning, Pick to Light, and Voice Directed) to deliver a solution that is tailored to your needs and makes your systems and processes even smarter. When advising on picking solutions, Conveyor Networks give consideration to issues such as operator interface (ie paper or electronic), goods to man or man to goods, conveyors or pick carts, shippers or totes, as well as the issue of incorporating storage mechanisms.

Packing

Packing systems form a key area in the warehouse process and huge savings can be gained by intelligent automation. It is particularly relevant for either a business to consumer or business to business environment where the packing process will involve the goods be securely packed and labelled for onward shipment. Elements such as weighing, labelling, checking of goods against pick sheets, erection of cartons, closing of cartons and even vehicle loading are all areas where Conveyor Networks can assist and advise on the best solution to help make your business more efficient.

Conveying

Conveyor systems have evolved greatly over recent years and have become an increasingly complex mechatronic element of the warehouse operation compared to the earlier basic belt or roller systems.

Conveyor Networks have built a strategic partnership with Transnorm Systems GMbH which gives us unrivalled access to the very latest systems. With over 40 years experience manufacturing quality conveyors, Transnorm Systems GMbH continue to invest heavily in research and development and we work closely with their highly qualified engineers on key projects.

We have also built links with other partners who offer cost effective conveyor products such as spiral chutes, flexible conveyors and gravity systems. All conveyors are available as supplied only modules or as part of a complete system installation.

Despatch

Reductions in repetitive manual processes are where automation truly delivers and sorting is one of the areas where maximum benefits can be achieved. Conveyor Networks have vast experience across a range of solutions covering all types of sorting systems for all types of products. These range from high speed sorting machines (split tray, tilt tray, cross belt) where up to 18,000 products per hour or more need to be sorted through to mid-range solutions such as swivel wheel where up to 6000 products per hour can be achieved.

When our carrier integration software is added to the process users are able to include multiple custom carriers, manage non-standard characters, print carrier compliant labels and generate driver manifests and tracking IDs.

Pallet Handling

Automating the pallet handling process can speed up loading and also make loading areas safer and less reliant on manual activity. Pallet handling covers checking, weight profiling, storing, sorting and vehicle loading. Either Euro or UK pallets can be handled and Conveyor Networks can ensure that any pallet handling system can be integrated with your existing system. Pallet handling can typically be slower than carton handling due to the size and weight of the products in question. Other machinery can also be incorporated into a system to help processes such as labelling, strapping or wrapping.
