18 Apr Industry Award Finalist
Conveyor Networks is a finalist in the Digital Engineering / Technology category for Insider’s prestigious ‘Made in the North West’ 2019 awards.
Working in collaboration with Pets at Home to support the development of its warehouse capabilities across the UK, Conveyor Networks has been shortlisted for the development and implementation of an innovative solution, which will see a fully automated picking and packing process at the retailer’s Northampton DC.
The large scale automation project for Pets at Home has been implemented in a phased approach, to help alleviate pressures on the warehouse and allow benefit to be realised earlier for its customer.
The use of an intelligent software platform to manage the interface between the PLC control system and the host WMS platform from JDA, provided by Conveyor Networks’ associate business, imio-Software Solutions Ltd, ensures this validation and makes this solution truly innovative in the market. Not only will this enable Pets at Home the opportunity to grow the variety of product it automates, but the technology ensures very high levels of accuracy.
This niche technology offers a significant commercial advantage to both Pets at Home and Conveyor Networks, as it is the only system in the industry to operate at this level. This system for Pets at Home is going to help the business realise their enviable growth ambitions, while allowing them to circumnavigate the traditional issues of extra resource required to facilitate such growth – especially at peak times.
