11 Feb Software and Automation at Kuehne + Nagel
Warehouse logistics solutions provider Conveyor Networks have delivered a software & automation solution for Kuehne + Nagel’s Virgin Media operation. The solution automates package handling, bagging and returns paperwork into one process, all managed by Conveyor Networks Interface Manager software suite.
Kuehne + Nagel needed to efficiently send returns kits to Virgin Media customers so the customer could return their equipment conveniently with the correct paperwork. Kuehne + Nagel were looking to automate the process and have full visibility of the operational performance.
The software allows the operator to select the type of returns order they need to send out and sends the details to a bulk printer ensuring the correct paperwork is included with each order. Communication back to the client order management system verifies when the return was sent out and to who. Hourly performance reports are provided so that Kuehne + Nagel can constantly assess their operational status.
Using software to direct the automation processes ensures a secure, accurate, efficient process is in place that integrates easily with existing IT systems and guarantees a real time view of all stages of the operation.
“Interface Manager is a very user friendly application and our operators were competent within hours! Conveyor Networks delivered a solution bespoke to our requirements and we are fully recognising the benefits.” Lawrence Hart, Contract Development Manager, Kuehne + Nagel Ltd.
David Carroll, MD at Conveyor Networks commented “Combining our software and automation expertise means we are able to offer customers an intelligent system that effectively integrates the different delivery processes and noticeably improves all round performance.”
