07 Dec Students experience Virtual Reality
Business students from Barnsley College got to experience virtual reality first hand when our Technical Sales Manager Chris Roberts paid them a visit recently.
Chris, spoke to the students about the warehouse automation and software solutions that we provide for retail and eCommerce businesses. He explained how warehousing companies use virtual reality and automation to simulate our own businesses, allowing them to trial new systems and processes before it is introduced to the business in reality. He then went onto give the students an opportunity to have a go on the state-of-the-art equipment.
Nigel Moyo, 16, a Level 3 Business student said:
I enjoyed the interactive session. I found it very informative and I have a greater understanding of how businesses use new and upcoming technology.”
Speaking about the visit Chris added: “It was a pleasure to visit the College and demonstrate how we use virtual reality and automation to the students. I hope they have a greater understanding of the technology that is available and how it can be used within industry.”
Dale Karim, a tutor within the Business, Warehousing and Logistics department at Barnsley College, went on to say: “It was fantastic to hear from Chris and find out how technology is being used within industry to enable them to develop their working practices.”
“As a College, we’re trying to implement virtual reality into the classroom so our courses are enriched with the technologies that are more readily available to us.”
